Sandra Moss, M.Ed., RMHCI
Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern under supervision of Laurie Giancola, LMHC (license MH11971)
Sandra holds a master’s degree in Educational Psychology in Community Counseling from the University of Mississippi, and her undergraduate degree is in social work. Sandra also is a Level II Reiki Practitioner.
Sandra was previously certified by the state of Mississippi as a mental health counselor, where she worked in both inpatient and outpatient environments. Despite her extensive background, when she relocated to the state of Florida, she was mandated to obtain registration as a mental health counselor intern. However, Sandra is far from an inexperienced "intern" with her years of experience.
Sandra specializes in trauma and primarily uses psychodrama and emotionally focused therapy to help clients resolve their trauma histories and move forward in life. She also uses other modalities such as motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy, depending on what best serves the client.
Her expertise includes working with clients suffering from depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, schizophrenia, eating disorders and substance abuse disorders.
Sandra is experienced in working with adults, couples, adolescents, children, and families in both individual and group settings. Sandra also has extensive experience with the LGBTQ+ community.
In your sessions with Sandra you will feel validated, valued and heard. You are in charge of your therapy and the goals will be tailored to what is important to you. While working on your issues may be difficult at times, feeling safe and cared for are vital components to enable you to do so, and Sandra believes providing this is the foundation to start her work with you.
