Laurie Giancola, LMHC
Adults, Children, Teens, & Family Counseling
Traumatic experiences can impact every aspect of your life and leave you feeling angry, confused, and lonely. If you feel discouraged, misunderstood, and just exhausted by how much energy it takes to cope on a daily basis, we should talk. I understand that trauma symptoms are disempowering and want you to know that you don’t have to handle this on your own.
I specialize in treatment of complex trauma and PTSD. I am passionate about helping my clients overcome the negative effects of stress and traumatic experiences. My education and training has been focused on the treatment of trauma symptoms and I have experience helping clients recover from upsetting experiences including childhood abuse, sexual trauma, domestic and partner abuse, attachment trauma, complex grief, phobias, and job loss. My training includes EMDR, hypnosis, traumatic incident reduction, adoption competency, child-parent psychotherapy, and I am a level 2 certified clinical trauma specialist.
I became interested in how trauma affects children and adults while working in the foster care and child welfare system as a case manager and therapist. I graduated from Eckerd College with a BA in human development and from Argosy University with a masters degree in mental health counseling. In my current practice I treat adults, children, adolescents, and families. I love being a counselor and feel honored to partner with my clients and witness their recovery.
