Therapy for Children

Our Children Are The Future

Sometimes kids, just like adults, would benefit from counseling. We’ve worked hard to foster an environment that can be both comfortable and fun for kids, while getting the help they need.

Children Counseling Palm Harbor

Counseling can help children develop problem-solving skills, allow them to feel more confident and resilient, and also help them learn the strength involved in seeking help. Our therapists can help children and their parents cope with stress, school issues, as well as a broad range of behavioral and emotional issues.

When you see your children struggling, it can show up in many different ways. Some kids may have frequent tantrums, outbursts, or just constantly say “No!” to you. For other children, it may appear as difficulty at school, with their friends, or they may find it hard to communicate and express their feelings.

I specialize in helping children heal

I've trained and worked for years to help kids overcome emotional and behavioral issues. I know how hopeless it can feel when you finally decide to reach out for help. But the good news is that countless children have been able to overcome trauma, abuse, anxiety, school problems etc. only to emerge stronger on the other end. Therapy does help!

We'll work on helping you, the parent, communicate effectively with your child. I’ll also help your child to better identify their feelings, and then learn positive coping skills to manage them effectively. So often children struggle because they simply don’t know what to do with the strong emotions they feel. I look forward to helping bring a sense of peace and understanding to your family.

How do you help me reach my goals?

I utilize my training in childhood counseling to provide exercises that will help guide you and your child through the healing process. We'll figure out the specific way your child is struggling, and then teach both of you how to cope with those situations in the future.

Every session is individualized to your needs, because nobody benefits from a cookie cutter approach to therapy. We will focus on the specific strategies that will best apply to your situation. And when something doesn't work, we toss it out and try something new.

This sounds like too much work

When you're overwhelmed, stressed, and anxious, it makes sense that you'd be hesitant to add one more thing (therapy) to your plate.

What OUR patients tend to find is that our work together helps them begin to feel that there is hope again for their child. That initial burst of hope is so helpful in buying into the process and doing the hard work involved in dealing with strong emotions.

Therapy is an investment in your child's well-being, and much like exercise it takes a bit of effort to see the best results.
